I can’t tell you how many times I see guys wearing these big and baggy shorts in summer that just don’t look good. Having the right men’s shorts is essential for guys to look stylish while also being comfortable at the same time.
These are the top 5 best men’s shorts that you or any guy needs this summer.
Sweat Shorts
As I said before in my previous post, sweat shorts will be a popular trend this year
One of my go-to pairs of summer shorts is a nice pair of sweat shorts. A good pair of grey or black should be a staple for you. They are comfortable and also easy to style.
I would usually wear a nice vintage oversized T-shirt, with some retro Jordan 1’s with high Nike socks.
One tip is to make sure that they are 5 or 5.5 inch inseam. That way they will be a little bit above your knee to show off your quads.
One of my favorite pairs of shorts is from the gym clothing brand Gymshark. They have many types of shorts but the sweat shorts that I like are called the Crest Shorts.
Amazon also has some really nice sweat shorts as well.
Mesh Shorts
Mesh shorts have recently gotten more and more popular with the help of people like Eric Emanuel and the NBA. With this style of shorts, you can go a little bit crazier with the colors and patterns because of the mesh material.
Personally, these are one of my favorite types of men’s shorts because of how versatile they are and the many types of colorways too.
How I would style these are the same way as the sweat shorts or if it’s a little bit colder you add a hoodie to make add contrast with the shorts. You can even add a flannel too over the hoodie for another layer.
There are many places that sell these types of shorts like Eric Emanuel (If you can get them before they sell out), Chinatown Flea Market, Asos. You can also find nice pairs of mesh shorts at the thrift store or even on Depop.

Nylon Shorts
These shorts are basically swim trunks. The great thing about these is that they come in a variety of colors, styles, and the fit is just perfect. They have a slim but also boxy fit to them. Also, they come in 5 to 5.5 inseam as I said before are the ideal inseam size to have.
With these, I style of shorts I would wear a nice simple oversized boxy tee to keep things simple. With some AF1’s, Jordan 1’s, or vans oldskools.
Cargo Shorts
I know what you might be thinking. Ew, cargo shorts are so ugly. But these types of cargo shorts are different. These are more tactile style cargo shorts. They don’t have your usual type of bulky side pockets. The pockets are usually on the front of the short and aren’t too bulky and big.
And like I said before and will say again make sure that they are 5- 5.5 inch inseam, or at least a bit above the knee to show off your quad.
Some places that have good cargo shorts are PacSun, Asos, and Urban Outfitters.

Denim Shorts
When you think of summer shorts the first thing that you might think of are denim shorts. These are a classic and a must have for the summer.
I usually tend to gravitate to denim shorts that have frayed hem or edge to them because I personally don’t like the clean looking denim shorts.
How I would style denim shorts is with a nice colorful button up and a pair of clean all white sneakers. This is just a clean and simple look that is easy to pull off.
